The Facility

Eight Racks. Nobody Waiting.

Most gyms have one or two squat racks and a line of people waiting to use them. We have 8 squat racks, each with its own deadlift platform. You train when you arrive, not when a rack opens up.

The racks aren't off a catalog. The gym owner designed them himself and they're built here in South Carolina by Williams Strength. Made by people who lift, for people who lift.

Everything else was chosen the same way:

  • Old-school cast iron plates, made in the USA
  • Rogue barbells and Texas Power Bars
  • Specialty Bars to accommodate any program, training goal, or injury
  • Dumbbells
  • A curated selection of machines. Not a showroom floor. Just what you need for accessory work that actually gets you bigger and stronger.

Nothing on this floor is decorative. If it's here, it earns its space.

Never Lifted Before?

A Gym-Only Membership Is Probably Not Where To Start

If you've never trained with a barbell, self-directed access is the hard way to start. Most beginners who start on their own don't know what to do, get frustrated, then quit.

We also offer personal training: a coach in your corner teaching you exactly what to do, writing your custom workouts, two or three sessions a week. If that sounds more like what you need, it's worth a short conversation before you buy anything.

Before You Join

Common Questions

How much is a membership?

$70 a month for 24/7 gym-only access. The first three months are collected up front at signup, then it's month-to-month. Day and week passes are priced separately.

Is there a contract?

No. Membership is month-to-month and you can cancel any time.

Do I need to talk to anyone to join?

No. Memberships and day passes are bought straight from the site and access is set up from there. If you'd rather ask questions first, book a call.

What are the hours?

Members have key-card and app access 24 hours a day, every day. Coaching runs by appointment.

When is the gym busiest?

Personal Training and Club Coaching hours are the busy windows: during those times, please stay off the squat racks unless one is open. You are welcome to use all of the other equipment during those times. Outside coaching hours, you'll usually have the floor to yourself. You can check the coaching schedule here.

Can I try it before committing?

Yes. Day and week passes exist for exactly that.

Do I need coaching to be a member?

No. Gym-Only membership includes no coaching, and plenty of members train entirely on their own programs.

What if I'm new to barbell training?

Then coaching is probably the better starting point. Book a short call and we'll tell you honestly which one fits.

Where are you, and is there parking?

95 Tall Oak Ave, Charleston, SC 29407. We're in Avondale, in West Ashley, about ten minutes from downtown Charleston, right behind Mellow Mushroom. Look for the Strength Club door, marked Suite A. Free parking on site.
